Kayaking Success for YNSA athletes

Members of the Norwich School senior kayaking squad travelled to Nottingham for the National Sprint Regatta at Holme Pierrepont over the weekend, the squad includes YNSA athletes Livvy Rowe and Harry Shearer.  Harry Shearer, Luke Shaw and Livvy Rowe all made it to the finals after competitive heats, battling against strong head winds.   

Highlights included four finals for Luke Shaw, including second place in Boys B 500m K2;  four finals for Harry Shearer, including a third in the Boys B 1000m K2 and a 5th in the Boys A/B 200m K2.      

Congratulations, however, must go to Livvy Rowe, who also finalled in four events in Girls A/B, achieving 5th in 500m K1; 3rd in 200m K1; 2nd 200m K2 and 1st in the 500m K4 events.   As a result of these successes Livvy has been selected to represent Great Britain in the U18 Girls Squad, travelling to the Piestany International Sprint Regatta in Slovakia at half-term.    

Livvy and Harry have also both been promoted to Girls A and Boys A Sprint Divisions respectively. Congratulations to all.
